In 2010, we began a wellness strategy called Strive 2 Thrive™ that targeted our team members first. Our reason for this was not only are our team members our greatest asset, but a healthier team member will be more equipped to serve our valued residents. With a focus on providing programs and incentives that encourage team members, wherever they are at on their personal wellness journey, to take the next step toward a healthy lifestyle. The program itself includes a yearly biometric assessment, education, behavior maintenance and behavior change programs such as our annual 60-Day Slim Down, competitive departmental and facility challenges, and a custom online & mobility activity tracker.
It was never our intention to leave wellness only for our team members. After launching our wellness strategy towards team members, we began the Strive 2 Thrive™ Wellness Program for our residents. By redefining activities to include outcome based activities and programs alongside the traditional favorites such as Bingo, we have seen some great impact on resident satisfaction and certain physical and mental outcomes. The programs include education, physical activities and cognition games/activities that are meant to stimulate the mind. Our programs stretch the whole continuum of care including Team Member, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living Facilities, and Dementia Care Units.
