Wow, I can’t believe we are a third of the way through this program! It has been a whirlwind to say the least. I am seeing my colleagues making some great strides in their health journey and I am seeing some as well. There is still a long way to go and I am excited to see the impact in the end.
Something that tends to happen quite a bit when beginning an exercise program is injury. I know this has hindered me in the past. A lot of times this is the point when I had given up. I think the same is true for most people. Lately though, I have found myself trying to figure out a way around being nicked up or injured. I have finally come to the conclusion that I cannot let small issues change my health. My overall well being is worth fighting through some adversity. I understand bigger issues where doctors may recommend no exercise, but I am talking about the smaller things. I once heard a trainer tell someone who had an injured leg, “You can still workout your upper body”. This really hit home for me.
I guess the mindset that I have to take is that nothing will stop me from achieving my goals. When you make that decision and adversity comes your way, your decision is easy: Press on! No longer do I give in and let my goals and my health fall to the wayside. I believe they call this having resolve. I resolve to let nothing stay between myself and my goals. This is true across many disciplines not just health. It has caused me to set some new resolutions and goals.
Here’s to not letting anything stay between me and that 12-week program finish line!
