Senior Care Centers, LLC Announces

Team Members – Rowlett Recovery

The storm system that hit Rowlett a few days ago brought a great deal of tragedy. The loss of life caused by the weather is difficult to bear and the damage to hundreds of homes around the area is simply terrible. Along with this, our Rowlett Health and Rehabilitation Center sustained significant damage that may take many months to repair. Work crews have responded quickly to stem the losses, and we are grateful for their efforts, particularly as the weather has continued to be a challenge. In addition, a number of cars parked at the facility during the storm were heavily damaged and very unfortunately, some staff members’ homes were severely impacted as well.

That’s the bad news. Certainly, our thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected. In the midst of this, I also want to share some good news about the heart and grit that ourRowlett team demonstrated during the past 96 hours.

First, the team protected all of those under our care. None of our residents or staff wasinjured during the storm, thanks in large part to the preventative measures taken as the weather worsened. Second, in short order, the Rowlett staff had relocated more than 115 clients to other Senior Care Center locations. The Lake Pointe facility in particular worked quickly to accommodate an influx of more than 50 dislocated residents, and our Rockwall and both Winters Park locations also responded wonderfully to the situation. I can’t thank the teams enough. Your above-and-beyond response turned a disaster into an inconvenience for those under our care.

Recovering from a storm of this magnitude is likely to take many weeks of work ranging from staff rescheduling to facility clean up. In addition, we’ll be working with employees whose homes suffered damage through our Cares Foundation to help them regain some sense of normalcy as quickly as possible. As we move through this process, please keep everyone affected in your thoughts, and join me in thanking everyone for the extra effort that has been and will be required over the days to come.
